Makati Polytechnic Community College
The first of its kind in the Philippines, is the brain-child of Mayor Nemesio I. Yabut and Municipal Council of Makati. As a public educational institution. its aims to provide free technical secondary education, two-year post secondary education and four-year courses leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with majors in the difference technical fields, Bachelor of Science in Secretariat Administration and Bachelor in Engineering with different fields of specialization to all bonafide residents of Makati and subsequently improve the economic condition in the community.
The College started operation on July 10, 1972, then its was later change its name to Makati College until finally merged to Fort Bonifacio High School in West Rembo and became Pamantasan Ng Makati. Now the School was evolve to a full blown University called as University of Makati also known as UMAK.
